HACER has three main committees, the Community Outreach, the Culturals and the Socials Committees. Each aims to provide events in their respective category for the enrichment of the HACER members. Feel free to reach out to each committee with ideas or thoughts!
Community Outreach Committee
The Community Outreach Committee is focused on extending HACER’s goals and vision to the greater Houston area while also getting HACER members outside of Rice’s hedges. Events in the past have included supporting local students at the Houston Hispanic Forum’s annual Career and Education Day and volunteering at local community centers. Culturals Committee
The Culturals Committee is focused on sharing the diversity and beauty of the Latinx culture with the Rice community. The largest event the committee holds is, ¡Ritmo!, our yearly cultural show where we ask the Rice Hispanic community to share its music, clothing, and food. The Socials Committee is focused on using HACER to teach the Rice community about the diversity that exists within the Hispanic community. The committee is responsible for planning social activities throughout the school year.
